Cleveland - June 11th, 2010 - It was our friends, Dr. Michael Wright and his wife, Martha that called Donna, my wife, and told her about having samples of this new weight loss wonder, Power Gum. She said was a natural weight loss control and appetite suppressant which also gave Martha a boost of energy. Michael told her that he was buying donuts for the kids on Saturday morning and it didn't even phase him as he didn't feel hungry at all, after chewing this Power Gum.
Not a normal reaction for Michael and donuts!!
Of course, being the trusting soul that my wife is, she accepted some samples and tried it out without saying anything to me because she knew that I am always the skeptic and would ferret out all the ingredients, dosages and combination's thereof.
I noticed her not eating but she started chewing gum during the day sometimes. I also noticed some definite weight loss in her face and guessed that she was on some new quick weight loss fad diet for weight management. She also has been jetting around cleaning out the attic and working on our landscape which made me curious as to what she was up to. Yesterday, I took her to O'Charley's restaurant and she turned down their Potato Soup !!! So, I asked her to come clean. She smiled and declared that she has lost 8 pounds in 10 days and doesn't feel hungry for most of the day. She explained about Power Gum suppressing her appetite causing her to lose weight. She said she is feeling healthy and loves the extra energy to get things done.
So, as expected, it was time for my investigation of Power Gum's recipe of ingredients and nutritional value. I was sure the gum had to contain some prescription strength controlled substance although I doubt my medical doctor friends would use anything like that. I had heard of Zoft gum and Hoodia Gordonii products which didn't seem to work but not Power Gum.
I called the distributor and got a complete list of ingredients used to manufacture Power Gum for weight loss.
Chromium Polynicotinate is a nutritional supplement that I knew had been used to increase the efficiency of insulin to optimal levels.
Inositol, B8 vitamin, was included which surprised but impressed me. I did some research, and found that since the early 1970s, a number of papers have been published on the use of inositol in the treatment of OCD, depression, and anxiety. It seems that Inositol is converted by the body to a substance that regulates the action of serotonin within brain cells. Serotonin, as we know, is a brain transmitter chemical that has been implicated in OCD and trich.
The other ingredients Niacin, B12, green tea and bitter orange were pretty common although I have not seen them used in this combination and strengths. The ingestion through gum would also make them absorb into the body's metabolism quicker so I was actually impressed.
The Power Gum being marketed through a Multilevel Marketing System also got my negative vibs working but after checking into DreamLife which has been a successful multilevel marketer for 13 years and has some of my doctor friends as witnesses that the firm is stable and reputable, I also agreed to allow my wife to become a distributor. Only time will tell how all this will work out although their program seemed well organized and professional.
